Disney Lakeshore Lodge A-Frame Cabins: Construction Update & What to Expect! (2027) (2026)

Lakeshore Lodge A-Frame Cabins Take Shape: A Sneak Peek at Disney's Upcoming Nature-Themed Resort

A New Disney Resort is Taking Shape on Bay Lake

Aerial photographer @bioreconstruct has been providing regular updates on construction projects around Walt Disney World, and their latest photos reveal the exciting progress of Disney's upcoming Lakeshore Lodge. This nature-themed resort, set to open in 2027, is located on the former River Country site, next to Fort Wilderness and across the water from Discovery Island.

A Grand Scale Revealed from the Air

From the aerial photos, we can appreciate the sheer size of the resort. With three distinct "wings" and a courtyard area, the layout is taking shape. The Porte Cochere entrance is rapidly progressing, and the A-frame cabins lining the shore are becoming more complete. These cabins, with roofing tar and plywood sheathing added, are being focused on for completion.

Construction Focus and Progress

Crews appear to be concentrating on the cabins closest to the main building. Many of the other cabins, including those near Clementine Beach, are still framed with wood and steel. A crane remains on a Floatmaster in the water, with a dock under construction in the lake. Some structure is starting to appear nearest land.

Lakefront Bar or Restaurant Takes Shape

Near the lakeshore, the building believed to be a lakefront bar or restaurant now has roofing and additional steel structures around the perimeter. These might be for covered outdoor seating. Initially marketed as a Princess and the Frog-inspired location with a full-on, standalone table service restaurant on Bay Lake, plans for the resort may have changed.

Lazy River and Pool Progress

Concrete and utility work continues on the lazy river and main resort pool. The lazy river is a nearly complete oval of concrete next to the concrete pool foundation, which includes steps at one end and a ramp at the other. The lazy river is directly behind the resort’s entrance. Smaller "quiet pools" are under construction in other courtyard areas, and many roofline overhangs now have blue sheathing as they are prepared for final touches.

Disney Lakeshore Lodge: A Nature-Inspired Retreat

Disney Lakeshore Lodge is a Disney Vacation Club resort inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists. With its upcoming completion, this resort promises to offer a unique and immersive experience for guests.
